The seventeenth season of the popular U.S. Reality TV series the Bachelor has just had its season finale right here in Thailand. The show’s final episode, The Final Rose Ceremony, aired this past Monday, March 11, 2013 on ABC was estimated to have attracted around 10 million viewers.
Throughout this season of The Bachelor, Bachelor Sean Lowe and his prospective ladies have spent a significant amount of time experiencing the delights of Thailand. On the second-to-last episode before the finale, Sean and three ladies, Catherine, Lindsay, and AshLee, spent time along Thailand’s Andaman Coast near the provinces of Trang and Krabi. The two provinces lie on the west coast of Thailand and border the Andaman Sea close to Phuket. Sean and the girls spent a lot of time enjoying the incredible ocean views and getting out on the water while still taking in some Thai culture and the surrounding areas.
Sean’s dates included a visit to the market in Si Kao, a region in northwestern Trang province. The area is packed with picturesque beaches, waterfalls, caves, and islands. Sean and one of his ladies, Lindsay, spent time picnicking on the remote beach of Yong Ling. The couple also fed monkeys who took food right from their hands at Monkey Beach. Sean’s date with AshLee was an excursion to Emerald Cave, also known as Morokat Cave, off the coast of Trang province. The underground cave sits in the middle of the ocean and is only accessible by boat during low tide. To access the white sand beach and emerald-colored water surrounded by limestone cliffs, one has to swim about eighty meters through the underground cave. Sean’s date with Catherine included taking a boat ride to Koh Kai, also known as Chicken Island. The cast stayed in the luxury Anantara Si Kao Resort and Spa, south of Krabi, while filming. The Bachelor has certainly been taking advantage of many of the great locations that Thailand has to offer this season but we wanted to know exactly where the producers chose for the widely anticipated finale. After a little behind the scenes research we discovered exactly where it went down, Pa Sak Tong Villa; a luxurious resort villa nestled just 20 minutes outside of the city center of Chiang Rai which is located in the region known as the Golden Triangle, the point where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Burma come together.
The city of Chiang Rai is the gateway to northern Thailand and a unique city with several different cultural attractions and excursions. Not far from the resort is an elephant camp and there are further opportunities to go on jungle boat trips and experience local customs. The final episode of The Bachelor, including the final rose ceremony and the scenes where the bachelor Sean Lowe proposed to Catherine Giudici, one of the contestants on this romance based, reality show were all filmed onsite at Pa Sak Tong Villa .
About Pa Sak Tong Villa
Pa Sak Tong completed construction just three years ago and has been operating as a resort villa for over a year now. The quality fit-and-finish and attention to detail of the building itself, right down to the custom doors, is immediately apparent, but it’s perhaps the serenity of the actual setting itself; that really helps make this Chiang Ria resort stand out.
Set in beautifully landscaped grounds that includes 26 different varieties of palms, cascading water features, and numerous ponds; the property also overlooks an operational rice field, complete with its own water buffalo to tend the land. With a staff of over 60, most having also been trained in Europe, we found the place to be a little slice of heaven on our recent stay.
The resort provides an all-inclusive private villa experience that is unique in Chiang Rai . As a villa rental, guests enjoy the full run of the facilities, meaning the entire three bedroom villa is all theirs. With rates from B46,00 per night this includes round trip airport transfers, all meals, drinks, and house wine, and one complimentary massage per person; per stay.
Complete with spa, private ozone pool, an onsite organic garden, media room and even a private chef, Pa Sak Tong Villa provides the ultimate escape, so it’s no surprise the Bachelor decided this would make a great location for the Finale of the Bachelor.
